TMC Sensortechnik GmbH was founded by Dipl.-Ing. Bruno Gengenbach, Dipl.-Ing. Jens Radbruch, and Dipl.-Ing. Udo Witteck.
1995
The first miniaturized bimetal switch “C1” was developed, along with the fully automated production line designed for its manufacture. The first patents were submitted.
1996
Relocation to the new company building at Westliche Gewerbestraße 3, 75015 Bretten.
1997-1999
Launch of the high-performance temperature controllers “C4” and “C8”.
2000
Launch of the “MF” motor protection sensor based on PTC technology.
2005
Expansion of the production site with Hall #2 in Bretten, including the installation of a second, more powerful production line.
2008
Launch of the new latching switch “R”.
2010
Launch of a wire-free sensor called “MR”, based on PTC technology in THT design.
2014
Launch of the world’s smallest bimetal switch, called “F”.
2016
Launch of the “S” temperature sensor, based on Pt1000 technology.
2019
Launch of the N series for plug protection, starting with Schuko plugs.
18.03.2021
Acquisition of TMC Sensortechnik GmbH by Dr. Heino Freudenberg, a family entrepreneur from Heidelberg. The two founders, Bruno Gengenbach and Jens Radbruch, supported the generational transition for a further three years.
2022
Launch of the new N2 product generation (NEMA for the US market) as well as new materials in the areas of bimetal and insulation.
2022
Foundation of the sister company BGF Enztech GmbH to expand technical capabilities in precision stamping and injection molding of high-performance plastics.
19.06.2023
Opening of the new factory in Police nad Metují, Czech Republic, initially for the production of motor protection sensors.
2024
Launch of the innovative “Click & Play” system for temperature sensors (Pt1000, PTC, NTC) and bimetal switches in cooperation with our sister company BGF Enztech, aimed at reducing customers’ product and assembly costs.
2025
